Identifying When To Invest In A Life Coach

Some life coaches have experienced trauma, healed and overcame it, and are now helping others. They have become who they need for others. Other times, they have mastered an area of their lives and are now helping others who exhibit gifts in that same area. Your need for a coach will depend on where you lack knowledge or resources to accomplish your goals.  Coaching and consultants are taking the industry by storm. Anything you need, there is someone to help. It is a matter of finding them and making sure they are a good fit. By the end of this article, if you feel you need a coach but not in my area, please email me to help you find who you need.

Life Coaching does for the mind what a personal trainer does for the body. We help with assessing a situation to provide strategies for moving forward. It is a gradual process that allows individuals to dig beneath their thoughts and beliefs to help them understand internal obstacles to their success and wellbeing. Coaches help people identify and improve upon their: strengths, skills, achieve goals, and achieve personal and professional success. Coaches enable to manage transitional stages of life and challenges in a better manner. As an Emotional Wellness Professional, my company S.O.L.O. Coaching & Consulting L.L.C., helps goal-oriented individuals who cannot progress in their plans due to emotional setbacks, unhealthy perspectives, and limiting beliefs, to name a few. I come equipped as a Certified Belief Therapist, Life Coach, Journal Therapist, Organizer, and I am Cognitive Behavioral Certified. All of which I collectively use to help my clients go from goals to accomplished.

Life Coaching helps us take responsibility for our choices, thoughts, and actions and identify limiting beliefs. Limiting beliefs originate from experiences and events. We subconsciously internalize fear and insecurity surrounding them, which drives our behavior and choices in a very subtle but powerful way. If we accept limiting beliefs, it will become a truth for us.  What we believe shows up in how we behave. If you think you’re a failure, you may see it showing up in not getting anything accomplished or quitting before starting.  People with the same thought process effortlessly sway individuals with this mindset.  Something is too hard or impossible to achieve because they have put caps on themselves. Talking yourself out of everything is a cycle you do not want to be stuck in because it is hard to come out. You will have to work with a Mindset Coach to help you break this pattern mentally.

Other limiting beliefs sound like:

I’ll never be happy

I can’t be loved

Change is too hard

My family will abandon me if I change

I’m not smart enough

I don’t have the time

I’m not organized

If I relax, all hell will break loose

I’m not disciplined

Limiting beliefs are those which drive us in some way. Just believing them, we do not think, do, or say the things that they inhabit. False beliefs become an issue when we are unable to recognize them as being faulty or limiting. We will live our lives stuck in cycles when we do not seek help identifying the root issue.

The presence of a limiting belief shows up as:

  • A lack of interest and enthusiasm for your job, business, daily life, or relationships. No motivation!
  • Chronic procrastination
  • No idea who you are
  • Always has an excuse to avoid change
  • A lack of passion
  • Entertaining inner doubt about what you can and can’t do

People need guidance in the form of life coaching when they need:

  • To resolve confusion
  • Allay self-doubt
  • Make decisions
  • Pave a path towards the realization of their dreams and goals
  • Clarify Issues
  • Build Confidence

Once our mental blocks, internal challenges, and limiting beliefs are uncloaked, we can develop a newfound sense of energy and enthusiasm.

Take out your journal and answer these questions:

1.      What are my goals?

2.      Have you accomplished any of the goals listed? If not, why do you think that is?

3.      Do you need help organizationally or emotionally?

4.      If you were given the tools, would you use them to process what’s holding you back from moving forward?

5.     How do you talk to yourself? What are you telling yourself about your goals/desires?

6.     Have you ever sought help to reach your goals?

7.     Describe your ideal life.

Help is here. Your time is now. You deserved to live the life you’ve always dreamed of having. I was the person who never completed anything. I would do so well only to come to a screeching halt.  I allowed triggers from past experiences to send me down a depressive spiral time after time. I was wearing on my life caffeine does the heart. I did not know if I could make it after the last stint. But I rose and decided to invest in myself. I had a therapist and a coach, and I began studying myself to better understand what I was dealing with internally. There are roots, and the ax of truth must be laid to them to live our lives by design. You are worthy never forget that.

#1 Most Scariest Rollercoaster

As a child, I loved rollercoaster rides. It was the highlight of any vacation with my dad or whomever I went it. They were huge, scary, and got my adrenaline rushing every time. I enjoyed the thrill so much I wanted to take a spin repeatedly. It did not matter if these things had me hanging upside down, entering a dragon’s mouth, taking me underwater, or looped me faster than I can think. I wanted it. Boy, was it fun! Of course, I wouldn’t dare do it alone; I needed company to experience them with me. I wanted them to feel everything I felt; there was no way I needed to be there alone. The scariest ride was not one I experienced on vacation; I was in my hometown. I stood there pondering the outcome if I went there. The longer I thought about it, the deeper I traveled into my thoughts. I no longer had control, I lost myself in it, and at the time, it felt good. I felt empowered going there, although the side effects were dangerous. After I got off the ride and became aware of my surro

The Devaluing of the Single Mother

Are you aware of the chatter? It’s heard loud and clear; secret thoughts are no longer private anymore. Like a car depreciating as it exits the car lot, single mothers are made to feel this way for giving life. I found that women with husbands are belittling us just as much as men are. Do we do anything right? I use to wonder why there was such a great fear behind being a single mother. Some would have rather died than to be marked with those scarlet letters. Many did not make it because bringing them forth was not an option due to the stigma.   Single mothers are targeted and verbally destroyed. And by all means, don’t be a black single mother, double whammy! Black women experience demonization for having children out of wedlock and for being a black woman. It is not enough that our menstrual is considered a curse; let’s take it a step further and apply that to our existence.   Did you hear about the law passed to wear the hair growing from our scalp freely; then we have to listen
